Alpha is Coming - This Fall!

At some point, everyone finds themselves in the midst of serious questions about life and God. Why am I here? What is my purpose? Is there more to life than this? These are some of life’s big questions. But, there’s a problem: in our increasingly polarized and politicized culture, safe spaces for these questions can be remarkably hard to find.

That is why Alpha exists. Alpha is a place to explore life’s big questions in a safe and open environment. It’s a course with a series of sessions where anyone can share their thoughts and opinions and ask questions without feeling judged.

When you come to an Alpha, it starts with dinner. Food has a way of bringing people together and is a time to get to know each other in a casual setting. Next you watch an Alpha presentation. The talks are created to engage and spark conversation. They explore big issues around faith from a Christian perspective. After the talk is a time for discussion in small groups. This is the most essential part of Alpha. It allows everyone to share their own opinions on the ideas presented in the talks. It’s a time for people with different thoughts, beliefs and experiences to ask honest questions and have open conversation.

Alpha is for everyone regardless of background or beliefs. There is no pressure, no follow up and it is completely free to attend. Every Alpha is unique, run anywhere from churches to coffee shops to high schools and homes. Every week there are guests coming to an Alpha for the first time in their community all over the world—over 24 million people have tried Alpha.

Regardless of the culture or moment we find ourselves in, we all need a safe space to explore life’s biggest questions. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to explore faith, ask questions and share their point of view… on their own terms… at their own pace…wherever they are in the world… for free.
